Imagine what you could do!!

I had the pleasure of attending a retreat in Mexico in early December.

The main purpose of the retreat was to be sober for the week…at an all-inclusive retreat.
This wasn’t challenging for me, but it was the first time I’d ever gone to an all-inclusive and didn’t drink.
It was very interesting to observe people “getting their money’s worth” by eating and drinking ALL the things.

(I’d like to say I did this without judgment, but..I’m human…I did get a bit judgy at times.)

My main purpose in attending this retreat (other than having fun) was to challenge myself to take advantage of every opportunity presented to me.
To do things outside of the norm.
To maybe find some new things to add to my day.

And, I did just that.

The most exciting things were:

  • Jumping off a cliff and zip-lining into gorgeous cenotes!

  • Zip-lining through the trees….twice while upside down!

  • Swimming in the most gorgeous cave cenotes (the water was quite chilly!)…where we saw an itty bitty terrapin and bats!

Was I nervous doing these things?
Hell yeah!
Especially jumping off that cliff!

But, I was not going to let the opportunity pass me by.
This is what I was here to do!

And, I fucking did it!!

What an amazing feeling!!
The adrenaline was pumping, and I was so proud of myself for taking on these challenges.
It was very meaningful.

Some of the other very meaningful things I did:

**I got up to see the sunrise every day.
If you know me, you know I am not really a morning person.
However, my coach/friend/boss is very much a morning person and, when at the beach, makes it a point to see the sunrise.
So, for that week, I was a member of the #sunriseclub and enjoyed every moment.
It was a lovely way to start the day (although this will not be a part of my daily plan…lol).

**I participated in Yoga at 8am on 4 of the mornings and did Aqua Combat one afternoon.
I was 100% on board with the yoga, even though I don’t usually work out that early, but I was a little snarky about the Aqua Combat.
I was reminded of my intention of taking advantage of everything that was presented to me…so I did it.
And I had so much fun!
I used to do Body Combat quite regularly and was reminded of how much I loved it!
I came away from the trip intending to add yoga back into my week and start doing Body Combat again at least one day a week.

**I had MANY heartfelt, honest, open, loving conversations with all of the ladies on the retreat.
I allowed myself to be vulnerable.
I allowed myself to cry.
I allowed myself to hear and accept what the others had to say.
I allowed myself to learn from the others.
I allowed myself to be 100% present and a part of it all.

I allowed myself to say YES to myself.
I pushed myself.
I opened myself up to trying new things.

As I sit here and reflect on my trip, I can’t help but wonder…
Can you imagine…
What would it be like if you said YES to yourself?
How would it feel to push yourself?
How can you open yourself up to try new things?

It doesn’t have to be going away to an all-inclusive resort and not drinking.
It doesn’t have to be jumping off cliffs or zip lining.
It doesn’t have to be getting up to see the sunrise or doing yoga.

It’s what YOU want.

What have you been putting off?
What have you been doing that you don’t want to do anymore?
What sounds exciting?
What sounds impulsive?
What sounds amazing?

To use the words of my good friend Elena Sonino…
What sounds delicious to you?!
